Join the University of Maryland Pre-College Programs team in an exciting volunteer opportunity supporting UMD Concessions during basketball games at the SECU Center!
Volunteers will help run concession stands, serve guests, and assist with various customer service tasks during UMD home basketball games. This is a fun, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment — perfect for high school students looking to earn service hours while contributing to a great cause.
All proceeds from this volunteer effort go directly toward supporting Pre-College Programs at the University of Maryland, helping expand educational opportunities for future Terps!
Important Details:

Games typically last 5.5–7 hours.

Volunteers must ensure they have reliable transportation to and from the SECU Center.

Volunteers must be 14 years or older.

Participants can earn SSL hours for their service.

Concessions experience is not required — training will be provided on-site.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
