Kemp Mill Community Day is a day of community, food and family-friendly fun. This free community festival will feature music, bounce house, activities, food, concessions and fun for all ages. Local business and artisans will be there to highlight the goods and services they have to offer the community. Our last event attracted over 300 attendees.
Multiple short shifts are available. Volunteers may sign up for a single shift or multiple shifts if they prefer. Volunteer positions, descriptions & shifts are listed below:
Set Up helpers 9:00am-noon 4 needed
Set up helpers are needed to rope/tape off event area, assist with unloading and set up of tents, tables, chairs, mark & number vendor spaces, assist with setup of fundraiser tent, post signage, greet vendor and show them to their assisged area and other similar tasks
Break Down helpers 4pm-6pm - 4 needed
Break down volunteers are needed to break down tents, tables, chairs, remove signage, collect and remove trash, re-open parking area by removing roping, taping and other similar tasks
Face Painters Noon-2pm shift - 3 needed; 2pm-4pm shift 3 needed
Provide face painting services to attendees (children & adults). Supplies will be provided. Some experience and/or artisitic talents preferred but not required.
Balloon helpers Noon-2pm shift - 2 needed; 2pm-4pm shift - 2 needed
Blow up balloons (electric air pump provided) and distribute to children at event. Supplies will be provided. Balloon twisting experience a bonus!
Cotton Candy makers Noon-2pm shift - 2 needed; 2pm-4pm shift - 2 needed
Spin cotton candy for fundraiser tent. Supplies & machine provided.
Beverage (non-alcoholic) Sales helpers Noon-2pm - 2 needed; 2pm-4pm shift - 2 needed
Retrieve requested canned/bottled beverages (sodas/waters) for fundraiser tent. Manage ice & beverage supply levels.
Fingerprinters 11:30-2pm shift - 2 needed; 1:30pm-4pm shift - 2 needed
Fingerprint children using the provided Child Ident kits. Training by Montgomery County Police Community Services Officer will be provided on site.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
