The Woodmoor Pride Bake Sale will happen on Saturday, June 3 in the parking lot of Pine Crest Elementary School (
201 Woodmoor Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20901 - near Blair HS and Eastern MS). This is one of our annual neighborhood events to celebrate Pride Month. Each year we donate all proceeds to a local nonprofit organization that serves the LGBTQ+ community. This year, we have chosen MoCoPride

Two volunteers are needed from 8:00 am to 9 :00 am to help set up tables & a tent, decorate the tables, and put out baked goods. Up to 10 volunteers (2 per hour) are needed to help staff the bake sale between 9 am and 2 pm, in 1-hour shifts. Finally, 2 volunteers are needed to break down the tables & tent at 2 pm and carry them (and any remaining baked goods) a half-block distance to the yard of 107 Rockdale Drive. A bathroom inside 107 Rockdale Drive will be available for volunteers to use. Volunteers should bring water and sunscreen. Volunteers will be allowed to sample some items free of charge. Lisa Pfeifer will be supervising the student volunteers. No previous experience or training is necessary.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. Minimum age for bake sale staff is 12 years old. There is no age minimum for bakers who would like to donate items. Our nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns. All volunteer activities will take place in the Pine Crest Elementary School parking lot, 107 Rockdale Drive, or the 1/2 block between 107 Rockdale and Woodmoor Drives. WPCA member Lisa Pfeifer will be the responsible adult supervising volunteers. All volunteers must provide their own transportation. Please advise of any allergies or health concerns. Please bring clothes for inclement weather at your discretion.
