Come join us Saturday, March 4, 2023 for Serve Saturday at Journey’s Crossing.
You're invited to serve together to provide care for both local and global needs.

Registration/sign-in: 9-9:30AM
Review of accomplishments, SSL form completion
Lunch: 12noon (Cheese Pizza)
Cleanup: 12:30-1PM
[students may earn SSL hours for participation in projects and clean-up]
We will provide assorted project options, and you may rotate based on availability.
ON-SITE PROJECTS
Assemble meals for Haiti—Project will begin at 9AM. We will prepare meals for 10,000 people by assembling non-perishable food (rice, beans, stock, vegetables, and vitamins in bags that will make soup to feed a family of 5).
Care for Elderly in retirement community—Project will begin at 9AM. We will pot Spring plants & write notes to encourage elderly.
First Responders & School Teachers—Projects will begin at 9:30AM. We will assemble thousands of goody bags that bring a smiles to first responders in our local fire and police departments, hospitals, and schools.
Meals for Men’s Shelter—Project will begin at 10AM. We will prepare 300 lunches to serve the Men’s Shelter. Food preparation will be on-site.
THIS WILL ALSO BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO: Drop off canned food for Germantown Help from 9AM-12Noon. Bring and drop off non-perishable food on Saturday: macaroni & cheese, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, rice, beans or canned fruit to stock the pantry.
SERVE SATURDAY
You are invited to show love and support by helping with projects at Journey’s Crossing. Join us as we share AND do small things to make a difference in MOCO and around the world. Students are invited to earn Student Service Learning Hours for serving.
On Serve Saturday’s we focus on the local community, to face and meet real needs. We collect and deliver items, assemble goody bags to express kindness and care for first responders and school teachers, make crafts & banners, assist to provide food, help the homeless by preparing meals (300 sandwich/bag lunches for the shelter), care for needs of hurting children, single mothers, families, and we add projects as small groups express their passion to meet needs.
We strive to make a positive difference in our world as we partner with other organizations, like Montgomery Serves, Germantown Help, Seneca Heights Transitional Housing, Women’s Coalition, Men’s Shelter, Sheppard Pratt, Asbury Village, Zumba, County Highway Cleanup, and more.
This Serve Saturday—March 4, 2023—we will package 10,000 meals to impact our globe by feeding hungry people in Haiti. You are invited to join our change-maker teams as we collectively serve to make the world a better place.

Students who respond to this opportunity may earn SSL hours for on-site participation in projects, however students may NOT earn SSL Hours for dropping off food.
NOTE: Safety requirements: Journey's Crossing will follow CDC guidelines for safety, by providing hand sanitizing stations, and will adhere to the current guidelines set for masks on that date [masks available]. Note: photos may be taken for use at Journey's Crossing church.
