NONPROFIT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY foodandfriends.org We seek a Program Services Intern to support and enhance elements of our Volunteer Services, Nutrition Services, Client Services, Development Department, and Kitchen and Delivery departments. This is a part-time, in-person, unpaid position. The internship will total roughly twelve to fifteen hours of work per week. The Program Services Intern should expect to gain professional non-profit experience with one of the most prominent organizations in this field. The internship schedule (per semester) is as follows: Spring Semester – January 1 to May 31 Summer Semester – June 1 to August 31 Fall Semester – September 1 to December 31 **dates are flexible depending on student availability and organization schedule** Intern duties: Facilitate volunteer orientations Assist in the industrial kitchen Conduct outreach and recruitment Cultivate volunteer relationships Schedule nutrition counseling sessions with clients Administrative duties Provide delivery support Data entry/data management A successful candidate: Must be at least 18 years of age Is attending college or has a BA/BS in a relevant field Has at least one year of relevant work or volunteer experience Exhibits a strong public speaking ability Excels in oral and written communication skills Is able to work with diverse populations Can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Our staff enjoys a high quality, diverse work environment that includes short Fridays and casual dress. Food & Friends is Metro accessible and has free on-site parking. **Food & Friends requires background checks for all interns and will send additional information on the submission process.
