Position Description and Details:

Volunteers are needed to help distribute food to Manna participants at our outdoor satellite location in Glenmont. This includes setting up, checking participants in, directing traffic, and loading cars. This activity takes place outside, rain or shine. 

Ideally, we are looking for volunteers that can commit to a weekly schedule but intermittent opportunities may also be available.  


Requirements:

  • Volunteers cannot currently be receiving food from Manna.
  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and be able to work independently.  
  • Volunteers are required to speak English and demonstrate good communication skills to assist visitors and work alongside other community volunteers. 
  • Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Volunteers must be comfortable bending, reaching, and standing on their feet for the duration of the shift.   
  • This opportunity is eligible for Student Service Learning (SSL) hours if the student meets the requirements.  

  • Shifts:

    Tuesdays, 2:30-6pm 

    Volunteer shifts must be scheduled in advance and confirmed by staff. We do not accept walk-ins.


    NOTE: All volunteers must be able to sign our Volunteer Agreement form confirming they have never been convicted of a violent crime, child abuse, child pornography, kidnapping, rape, or any sexual offense.

    Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
