Since 2013, Mill Creek Village (MCV) has been a welcoming volunteer-led nonprofit organization dedicated to "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" in the Mill Creek Towne community in Derwood, Maryland. We help residents 60+ maintain their independence and stay comfortably in their own homes as they navigate life's changes and challenges. Our caring volunteers provide essential services including transportation assistance, friendly home visits and calls, grocery shopping support, and engaging social activities that make aging in place both practical and enjoyable. Beyond individual support, MCV brings the entire community together through several annual events and activities that foster meaningful connections between neighbors across all generations. Whether you're looking for assistance with daily tasks, seeking companionship and social connection, or want to volunteer your time and skills to help others, MCV creates a supportive network where everyone in Mill Creek Towne can thrive. MCV's Board is a working as opposed to a governance Board. Board members are expected to volunteer a minimum of 2-10 hours per month, including 2 hours each month at our Board meeting, although the number of hours is variable according to committee and other activities. Board Directors serve two-year terms. Board members plan and participate in social activities, committees, and governance; recruit new MCV members & volunteers; and participate in the growth and success of this important community non-profit organization.
