Description

Maryland Emancipation Day in commemoration of the 161th year 1864-2024 when Maryland Constitutional Convention wrote the third state constitution, which abolished slavery in Maryland, went into effect November 1, 1864.

Join us at the Oakley Cabin African American Museum & Park to help with living history, archaeology hands-on activities, crafts, and old-fashioned games for children.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian  and must be completed outside of school hours.
