Description

Volunteers are integral to restoring the Anacostia River. It is thanks to the work of the hundreds of thousands of Anacostia Watershed Society volunteers through the years that the river has improved. Our volunteers restore wetlands, plant native plants, collect seeds, and help with many other projects - often times pieces of larger plans that make a big impact on the river. All of our volunteer activities have an educational component and are an opportunity to learn about the watershed.

To stay in the know about our volunteer opportunities, join our monthly/seasonal Volunteer Email Newsletter! This monthly email will share upcoming events, pictures and stats about past volunteer successes, and seasonal tips to make the most of your volunteering experience.

Additionally, we have another list for #MusselPower-related events.  This work can require a more specific familiarity with the activities, so click here to sign up to join this specialized list.

We have several ways that you can get involved:

If you have a group greater than eight participants and would like to volunteer as a group, please fill out our Volunteer Group Information Sheet by clicking here.  We will follow-up with you and try to find an event that suits your needs.

Volunteer as a Scout

The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
