The Children’s Engagement Program Teacher/Assistant supports the Adult ESOL Program by providing a structured, educational, and engaging environment for the children of adult learners during class sessions. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere, allowing adult learners to focus on their studies while their children participate in enriching activities. You must be able to pass a background check before serving.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Delivery:
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities, such as arts and crafts, reading, storytelling, games, and simple educational tasks.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for children of diverse backgrounds.
Child Supervision and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program.
- Supervise children during activities and transitions, maintaining order and engagement.
- Encourage a love of learning and creativity in children while their parents attend classes.
Parent Communication:
- Greet parents and provide brief updates on their child’s participation.
- Address concerns or questions regarding the program in a professional and supportive manner.
Program Setup and Clean-Up:
- Prepare materials and set up the activity space before each session.
- Tidy up and organize the space after activities, ensuring it is ready for the next use.
