The Washington English Center (WEC), a DC-based nonprofit organization, is looking for volunteers to co-teach, substitute teach, or tutor ESOL to adult immigrants and refugees online or in-person this Winter! WEC serves several hundred adult language learners each term from over 80 different countries. No teaching background required as we provide training and resources!

ESOL group classes start April 13th and run through June 26th, 2026. Our one-on-one tutoring sessions happen on a rolling basis and have flexible start and end dates. Please note, if you are interested in co-teaching we ask that you sign up by March 27th to receive a placement or waitlist information on April 1st.
