Who We Are

The Foundation has 14 programs it provides for the public in the Gaithersburg and wider area. These programs include the Kentlands/Lakelands 5k, Musica Viva classical concert, Film society, Kentlands Community Players, and Kentlands Under the Lights. We partner with the City of Gaithersburg with the 5k.

What We Do

Our mission is threefold: 1) To build community by supporting local arts and cultural programs 2) To provide opportunities for volunteerism and community outreach 3) To serve as an educational resource on the landmark new urbanist community that is Kentlands.

We have many events and programs throughout the year where volunteers are needed. Student volunteers have participated over the years and are always needed. Some examples include: handing out water or giving course directions (Course Marshall) at our 5K Run. Being an usher or a stage hand at a Kentlands Community Players theatrical production at the Arts Barn. Assisting musicians in the Clubhouse at Musica Viva Kentlands. Helping to set-up, manage and refill the buffet station, announce winning raffle ticket numbers, and tear down/clean-up at our Volunteer and Annual Meeting dinners.
