JCA provides access, answers and oppportunities for older adults and family caregivers throughout Greater DC. JCA offers many programs to help our 50+ population stay connected to their communities and families. The Career Gateway is one of the programs that JCA provides that benefits our 50+ population - a program that helps 50+ professionals find meaningful employment!
What We Do
JCA's Career Gateway program is a job search training program for professionals 50+ who are looking to re-enter the work place or transition into a new career. Our program addresses every aspect of your job search! The Career Gateway will help you hone your resume, polish your networking and interviewing skills, use Internet job search resources more effectively, and turn your age and experience to your advantage. Each session of the Career Gateway features 30 hours of small-group classroom instruction over five days - from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. - comprehensive take-home materials, practical exercises, and a long-term mentor -- all for only $75! Something new to our program -- we have added a technology component. After each five day session of the Career Gateway, we are now offering three employment-related tech classes for our graduates - an Excel, PowerPoint and Word class. These tech classes are completely optional and just another benefit offered to our Career Gateway graduates.
