Who We Are
Winter Growth is dedicated to providing services for seniors and disabled adults that make it possible for them to remain in the community, maintain their highest individual health status and functioning level, and enjoy a sense of dignity and self worth. With locations in both Olney and Columbia, we offer Adult Medical Day Programs, Memory Care, Assisted Living and both hourly and overnight Respite Care.
What We Do
DAY PROGRAM
Our Day Program’s 1:5 ratio allows participants to benefit from activities that meet a wide range of interests, abilities, and therapeutic goals. Daily fitness activities and cognitive programs improve strength, balance, cardio health, mental functioning, and well-being. On-site physical and occupational therapy allow individuals to easily receive services without having to coordinate transportation.
ASSISTED LIVING
Winter Growth’s Memory Care and Assisted Living Homes share a common sense of energy and community. Residents enjoy private bedrooms; and experienced staff meet residents’ needs, with an awake night team adding a level of support not often available at other smaller homes. Residents also have daily access to a Registered Nurse and benefit from the on-site Day Program that offers an array of activities, including fitness and memory programs. Close friendships are common and a family atmosphere is apparent as staff, residents, and our wonderful volunteers care for and about each other.
RESPITE CARE
Hourly respite care, staffed with Certified Nursing Assistants and Medication Technicians, is offered throughout the week and on holidays. Meals and snacks are served in a social setting, and recreational activities such as movies, games, and conversations in the courtyard are provided. Overnight respite care is offered 7 days a week and is linked to our Assisted Living programs. Like residents, overnight respite guests enjoy private bedrooms, the benefits of an awake night staff, assistance with personal care needs, and medication administration.
Student SSL HOURS
Winter Growth provides the option of getting SSL hours, for students ages 16 and over. Certain SSL volunteer duties could include assistance with exercise programs. This includes playing physical games with our clients, and encouraging clients to exercise. A staff member would lead the exercise. Other options include helping with passing out meals/drinks, and cleaning up at the end. Certain administrative tasks include shredding papers and answering the phone. Winter Growth has a beautiful courtyard, a student can help with gardening in that area. If students enjoy playing games, they can participate in table top games. Such games include bingo, cards, scrabble, etc. This is a good time to interact with our clients.
