Sports Plus Group, Inc.

Sports Plus is a Montgomery County based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers year-round, uniquely structured, co-ed sports and social programs for children, teens and young adults, ages 5-26, with autism, ADD, ADHD and other developmental disabilities. Sports Plus offers both indoor and outdoor programs that feature innovative techniques, highly trained coaches, the participation of neuro-typical siblings and a comfortable, supportive and productive environment for all participants and their parents. Sports Plus was founded in fall 2005. Sports Plus programs are specifically designed to create sports, recreation and social opportunities and fill a void for children and their families and young adults that were previously unable to meaningfully participate in sports related activities. All programs do this by focusing on the ability of the participants and providing a combination of challenge and help to allow each one to reach their individual potential. Our volunteers are participating in the activity that we offer, right along with our participants. There is engagement on both sides. We offer short meetings before and after each class in order to educate our volunteers and give them the tools needed to engage our participants. This mutuality is one of our missions as an organization. Our volunteers take this education with them into their everyday lives.
