Open Door Sports Inc.

Our mission is to provide free, high quality sports programming, positive experiences, and community building opportunities to individuals with disabilities and their peer buddy volunteers in Montgomery County, MD. We  provide 4 seasons of programming in numerous sports, including soccer, basketball, tennis, t-ball, yoga and bocce.  Our model pairs our athletes with a peer buddy volunteer to help them find success on the field or court and friendship and community off of it.  We see the potential in all our players and strive to make sports fun, accessible and enriching.

ODS provides free high quality sports programs, positive experiences and community building opportunities to children and young adults with special needs. As many of these players have not been able to access high quality sports instruction before, we strive to limit the barriers they have to overcome and bring these programs to the children in their local school and community settings. ODS  recruits volunteer middle and high school peer buddies to work with our special needs participants to help them find success on the field and court, as well as friendship and community off of it.
