Who We Are

As part of the State’s Attorney’s Office crime prevention initiatives, the Truancy Prevention Program (TPP) is dedicated to improving student attendance across Montgomery County. By identifying the root causes of truancy and providing support to students and their families, TPP helps remove barriers to consistent school participation.

The program currently operates in 24 middle schools and 3 high schools, with a goal to expand to every middle school in the county — and we need volunteers to make that vision a reality!

What We Do

Mentor. Motivate. Make a Difference.

As a TPP mentor, you’ll meet with students once a week for 10 weeks, alongside our dedicated Truancy Prevention Program team. Together, we work to create meaningful change by:

  • Reducing school absenteeism
  • Improving students’ attitudes toward education
  • Providing personalized mentoring and goal-setting
  • Helping students realize their full potential

Join us and be part of a team that’s changing lives — one student at a time. Sign up today!
