Great and Small

Great and Small began in 1997 with one instructor, two riders, and one horse. Today Great and Small is located on the Rickman Farm Horse Park in Boyds, MD. We serve 40-50 riders weekly and the program is expanding. Great and Small is a Premier Accredited center with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH International). We provide Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to people of all ages with a wide range of special needs.

Volunteers support therapeutic riding lessons by actively participating with the horse, rider, instructor, and other volunteers assisting the rider accomplish goals. They may also participate in the daily care of the horses. Other volunteers give their time and talent in the areas of accounting, photography, web design, marketing, fundraising, writing, etc.
