Who We Are

The people of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church believe and practice "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors". As we seek to serve God and neighbor in all we do, we welcome anyone and everyone to worship and participate in our programs. As part of our activities we sponsor numerous, secular service projects throughout the year that directly benefit the community.

What We Do

We perform service activities for various community groups and organizations. Historically we perform 2,000 hours of service each year. In the last few years we have: assisted with the Chevy Chase Fire Department Open Houses; created Blessing Bags for the homeless, which can be passed out to those in need; helped feed the homeless by cooking meals, making sides, and making desserts; put together playhouses and chairs with Habitat for Humanity for those moving into new homes; created Thoughtful Treasures for those at NIH Children's Inn; created centerpieces for a local nursing home; made wreaths for shut-ins at holiday time; made dog and cat bed and toys for local animal shelters, and so much more!
