Camp Opportunity

Camp Opportunity of Maryland provides an overnight summer camp experience for Maryland children (including Montgomery County) ages 8-11 who have experienced abuse and neglect.

At Camp Opportunity, campers and counselors are organized into small pods, blending individualized attention with the joy and support of a close-knit group.

Our volunteer counselors spend the week:

• Supporting campers through daily camp activities, providing encouragement, structure, and care;
• Helping campers feel safe, seen, and included while fully participating in camp life—playing, creating, exploring, and building meaningful memories together.
• Engaging in activities like: hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, and daily “Journey” classes that give campers space to explore their resilience in a supportive environment.
