What We Do
Support the various community projects.
Volunteer duties:
Setup & Breakdown
•Arrange tables, chairs, tents, and signage before doors open
•Help vendors and health partners carry and set up displays
•Stock information tables with flyers, giveaways, and program booklets
•Break down tables, fold chairs, and clear the grounds after the event
Greeting & Information
•Welcome guests at the entrance and hand out programs
•Direct visitors to vendor booths, health screenings, restrooms, and parking
•Answer basic questions about the schedule and activities
•Help visitors with sign-in and health-fair check-in forms
Bazaar & Vendor Support
•Assist vendors with errands, restocking, and carrying items
•Staff church and committee tables (souvenirs, baked goods, raffle, lapel pins)
•Keep booth areas tidy and walkways clear
Health & Wellness Fair Support
•Guide guests to screening stations run by partners including the African American Health Program, Black Physicians Healthcare Network, AARP Maryland, MedStar Montgomery, and Adventist HealthCare
•Help manage sign-in lines and distribute health-education materials
•Restock water and refreshments at wellness stations
Hospitality & Cleanup
•Serve and refill water and light refreshments for guests and vendors
•Monitor trash and recycling stations and keep common areas clean
•Assist elderly or mobility-limited guests with seating and carrying items
General
•Wear the provided volunteer T-shirt or badge and check in with the coordinator on arrival
•Represent Good Hope Union UMC warmly and courteously to all guests
