Special Education Equal Development Society (SEEDS)

Who We Are

Founded in 2021, the Special Education Equal Development Society (SEEDS) is a student-led Maryland-based initiative for disability awareness and equity. Through weekly, monthly, and yearly activities, SEEDS strives to increase opportunities for special education students, foster connections between special education students and student volunteers, and advocate for special education students throughout the community. Most recently, SEEDS has won the Distinguished Service to Public Education Award from Montgomery County Board of Education, Gold Award from the CAPA National Youth Leadership and Innovation Showcase, Hershey Heartwarming Heroes Grant, Dr. Alan Cheung Community Leadership Scholarship, among many others.

What We Do

Support special education youth in peer to peer weekly activities (swimming, sports, tutoring, musical and artistic events)
