Who We Are
Our Mission To help Montgomery County Public School students develop the necessary skills to manage their own careers over their lifetime. This includes: Identifying their own strengths, interests, and values (SIV) Identifying how they are growing and improving their skills Exploring a range of options available to them Describing their goals and priorities for their future Our Vision To help all Montgomery County Public School students develop life-long career management skills. All students will be able to vividly describe their own strengths, interests, and workplace values; identify how they are expanding their skills and knowledge; describe the various opportunities ahead of them; and describe their goals for their future.
What We Do
Career Advising Coaches meet with students/groups to ensure that everyone receives support for career management and self-advocacy through carefully curated questions. This "dialogic" process is repeated so students develop a more vivid sense of their interests, options, and goals. Through MoCo Cap’s structure, "career advising" is synonymous with "career counseling."
