DMV Petri Dish

Who We Are

DMV Petri Dish a non-profit in the Washington DC Metro Area (Montgomery County, Northern Virginia, DC proper, and Baltimore) that is focused on the person working on their next big thing in the basement, garage, or living room.

We support them by having a family of meetup groups to allow them to mentor and seek help on their work from other people in the community, supplying talks and research to inspire new projects, constructing platforms to help them spread the word about their work, and establishing partnerships to help take their personal projects to the next level.

    • Neurofibromatosis working group (genetics, neuroscience, drug discovery)
    • Upcoming Projects TBD

  • They can join a committee that helps further the mission of Petri Dish
    • Grants and Fundraising
    • Pitch Labs (platform for open access business or project feedback)
    • Media, Engagement, Advertising, and Marketing (MEAD)

  • They can join to undertake a special project that has them work with one of our partner non-profits or other aspect of Petri Dish.

Along the way as you volunteer with us you'll have access to:

  • a variety of science and tech professionals to network and interview
  • the opportunity to attend events, seminars, and workshops that are of benefit to your future career.

We take volunteers from high school to senior citizens!
