ENTER: the Jewish Peoplehood Alliance

Who We Are

ENTER is a non-profit established in 2019 that operates in North America and in Israel. Our vision is to ensure that the Jewish people remain a global community that is united, secure and inclusive. ENTER supports the idea and practice of Jewish peoplehood, a non-religious philosphy that supports inclusive, pluralistic, multi-racial Jewish cultural identity. Our Montgomery County "One2One" high school program is co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, based in Rockville.

What We Do

MCPS high school students would join our growing cadre of high school students across North America in a series of on-line, cross-cultural dialogue encounters with similarly aged peers in Israel. The Israeli high schoolers are engaging through a public school framework aimed at strengthening applied English language skills, and many are drawn from periphery and disadvantaged communities. The program, called One2One, operates in the fall and spring, and offers a volunteer experience ranging from 5-10 hours over several weeks. One2One was established during the pandemic as a way to create non-travel based opportunities for crosscultural dialogue. We anticipate some MCPS students would volunteer through word-of-mouth and other community recruitment efforts, as well as others who may volunteer through their MCPS high schoool's Jewish student club.
