Who We Are

We are a volunteer-led organization fighting food insecurity in Montgomery County through food production, produce donations and food  gardening education.  We collect surplus produce from community and residential gardeners and farmers markets and donate super fresh nutritious produce to food pantries in the area.  Growers and donors are asked to drop  produce off at designated collection sites where volunteer drivers will pick it up for distribution to food assistance providers throughout the county. Neighborhoods, community gardens, places of worship, clubs and organizations are encouraged to set up their own collection sites and schedules and HarvestShare will link them with a local organization for distribution to those in need. Produce collection will run from July through October.

In addition to collecting and redistributing produce we host free Zoom gardening talks monthly from late spring through early fall as well as participate in community events featuring food gardening as well as events such as a SeedShare and Food Expo, Seedling share and plant giveaway to support county gardeners.
