Who We Are

Girls in Technology (GIT) is a volunteer-led committee of Women in Technology (WIT) with the vision to significantly increase the number of girls who pursue STEM education and ultimately join the ranks of other successful women in STEM careers. GIT provides free programs and events designed to engage and inspire girls in grades 6 through 12 in the D.C. Metro Region, especially underserved girls, with targeted education and skills development, successful women role models, endearing support and affinity. GIT makes STEM Experience and Higher Education scholarships available each year to help enrich these girls' lives and reduce the financial barriers to participate in STEM-related activities.

What We Do

Online research and analysis, support event planning and assist at events for middle and high school girls (such as registration, directing attendees to workshop locations, etc.).
