Who We Are
Young People for Progress is an organization of young people, aged under 35, that strives to build power among youth and young adults in Montgomery County and have them fully represented and participatory in our democracy in order to create a more just and equitable society.
What We Do
Some of our previous work includes leading a successful campaign to add youth and young adult seats to the new Montgomery County Policing Advisory Commission, and then identifying and supporting youth applicants, holding ‘know your rights’ trainings and restorative justice workshops, advocating for police reform at the local and state level. We continue to hold trainings and workshops, survey and canvass, and run campaigns on issues to improve young people's lives in Montgomery County.
