Join the PATESI Foundation’s 9/11 Day of Service Challenge — a fun, hands-on volunteer experience bringing together high school students from across Montgomery County for service, leadership, friendly competition, and community impact! ⭐ Earn approximately 8–15 SSL/service hours with opportunities to earn more! ⭐ Represent your school ⭐ Meet students from other high schools ⭐ Build leadership & advocacy skills ⭐ Compete, create, serve & have fun! ⭐ Be part of the FIRST group to launch this new PATESI youth initiative WHAT WILL YOU DO? * Decorate donation collection boxes * Assemble emergency period kits for youth entering foster care * Get your school and community involved * Create awareness displays about period poverty, postpartum poverty & male allyship * Take part in friendly challenges with other student teams * Learn about the meaning of the 9/11 National Day of Service * Come together with other Montgomery County high school students for a special 9/11 Day of Service event after school on September 11th, 2026. BRING YOUR CREW OR COME SOLO! Schools can participate with teams of up to 20 students, but individual students are absolutely welcome! The challenge kicks off in late August and ends on September 11 — the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. We're looking for students who want to lead, serve, meet new people, have fun, and do something meaningful for their community. BE PART OF THE FIRST TEAM OF STUDENTS. This is your chance to help launch one of PATESI Foundation's newest youth initiatives and show Montgomery County what can happen when young people turn kindness into action. Grab your friends. Represent your school. Earn your hours. Make an impact. Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns. Help us educate the next generation and normalize conversations about periods! Sister Moon is a first-period empowerment experience designed to equip girls ages 8-12 with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to navigate this important transition.

Your team can help ensure that those in need have access to period and postpartum essentials that support dignity, confidence, and opportunity. Whether you gather supplies at your workplace, organize a neighborhood drop-off, or rally your friends, family or classmates for a cause, every drive makes a difference. We’ll provide a toolkit with flyers, donation wish lists, and tips to make your drive a success. What You’ll Do: Choose your collection dates and location Spread the word Collect new, unopened period and postpartum products (pads, tampons, wipes,etc.) Deliver or ship collected items to a designated location. Pick up by a Patesi team member is also possible in the DMV.Who Can Participate: Individuals, families, schools, sororities/fraternities Faith-based and civic organizations Businesses and corporate teamsWhy It Matters: 1 in 4 students miss class due to lack of access to period products.
