To raise money to offset the event's costs, light up toys are sold. Volunteers will assist adult with sales. Sales will be from a tent and from traveling sales = an adult with 1-2 volunteers who carry light up toys in buckets in order to reach more people.
Olney Days Party in the Park is annual event to bring the community together. It has two stages, food trucks, drinks, games, and fireworks. Last year over 8,000 people attended Olney Days Party in the Park.
Volunteers will develop skills in communication and math (adding up sales, making change, counting number of toys someone purchased)
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
