Journey’s Crossing: 5K Soul Food fun run, June 3, 2023
Get ready to lace up your shoes for a great cause! We'll put our effort together to make a BIG difference.
Join us on Saturday, June 3, @7AM to setup and support a fun 5K Run/Walk to help fight hunger in our community. All the proceeds from the Sole Food 5K will be donated to Germantown Help to help them in their mission to provide food and prescription assistance to people in need right here in Germantown. The event is "Rain or Shine", plan to come weather ready, as it will be outdoors.
Day: Saturday, June 3, 2023
Location: 12900 Cloverleaf Center Drive, Suite A, Germantown, MD 20874
Time: 7AM-10AM
Event day: please report to Chanel Thomas, who will direct volunteers.
SSL Students & Volunteers are needed to sign-in racers, post signs, direct traffic on race path, cheerlead on race path, promote the event, encourage racers at the cooling station, hand out post-race meal at the party.
Adults volunteers are needed as marshals to direct traffic at roads that will be closed during the race.
So grab your friend and family – we’re going to have a great time exercising and making sure that nobody goes hungry in our neighborhoods.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
