Join One Montgomery Green (OMG) as we kick off the Wheaton "Street" Block Parties at Elkin St. & Price Ave - Starting Saturday, September 20th. We're teaming up with local businesses to turn this underused street into a vibrant, people-first public space filled with color, creativity, and community. Come out to support small businesses, enjoy the transformation, and help us reimagine how our streets can be: walkable, safe, connected, and sustainable. Students will help with setup and or breakdown of the education/outreach booth, staff the booth to talk about the student led programs OMG hosts during the school year (like SAPPlings, Clean Headwaters and Climate Explorers) and also support the other children's activities if needed.
(UPDATED) The shifts for the event are: First Shift - Setup: 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Second Shift - Event Support: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (event activities), and Third Shift - Breakdown: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
