SUMMARY
Montgomery College is seeking 12 MC students to participate in a Road Clean-Up in honor of Martin Luther King Day on Tuesday, January 17th from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Please arrive between 11:45 a.m. and 12:00 noon for prompt training and departure at 12:00 noon.
 
Students will meet in the BE Lobby (Germantown Campus) at 11:45a.m. for a quick training and pre-departure snack. Volunteers will return to the BE Lobby at approximately 2:00pm. Students may either walk or carpool to the service location. 
 
The full session will be outdoors. Students should dress warmly and bring a water bottle.
 
The event will be lead by Biological Sciences Professor Kiersten Newtoff and supported by Service-Learning Facilitator Hannah Stocks. Please reach out to hannah.stocks@montgomerycollege.edu with questions. 
 
SAFETY
  • Students will be cleaning a part of Middlebrook Road maintained by Montgomery College. High vis vests will be provided. Students must wear these vests and use good judgement when working near traffic. 
  • All students must sign up using the MC Serves database to ensure they have a waiver on file.
