Who We Are

Your Dog's Friend is a non-profit whose goal is to help keep dogs out of shelters by educating and supporting their humans. We try to help people both prevent behavior issues from developing and deal with those that already exist.

What We Do

Your Dog's Friend offers: free webinars by positive trainers and other dog-related professionals, including a monthly webinars for adopters; behavior and training advice; positive dog training classes, including some focused on specific issues like reactivity, fear or lack of focus; referrals to dog-related services; an informative website, and e-newsletter with behavior and training articles.

When you volunteer with us, you may be asked to provide support in some of the following areas:

  • Assist with summer camp activities including: help set up, move and pack up dog-training equipment, help camp attendees manage their dogs while in class, provide support to the instructors as needed. (**Please note: Summer camp plans are currently on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions.)
  • Develop social media content such as creating publicity for classes and webinars, researching and posting articles and videos, etc.
  • Conduct community outreach to local vets, rescue shelters, animal-friendly businesses and non-profits; Develop contacts and provide them with Facebook-ready information and materials.
  • Provide organizational support for a variety of events such walks to raise awareness, fundraising activities and volunteer appreciation.
