Who We Are
The Kensington Historical Society's focus is: (1) safeguarding the heritage of the community of Kensington by preserving a record of its cultural, social, economic, political, and architectural history; (2) promoting the preservation, protection, and restoration of districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects that reflect the history of education, welfare, and pleasures of its residents; (3) promoting the preservation of open space within the community for historic, recreation, and scenic purposes.
What We Do
Activities for which we would like volunteers include: researching history for our mobile website and annual calendar; and transcribing oral histories. On occasion we need volunteers for our display tables. Examples would be at the Day of the Book Festival (April), at the Children's Bike Parade (July 4), the Labor Day Parade Festival, the Model Train Show (first weekend after Labor Day), and the Kensington Fall Festival.
