Who We Are

The Lymphoma Research Foundation is the nation's largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and providing people with lymphoma and healthcare professionals with up-to-date information about this type of cancer. The Foundation's mission is to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by this disease.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation was formed in November 2001 by the merger of the Cure for Lymphoma Foundation and the Lymphoma Research Foundation of America . Both organizations were founded by lymphoma advocates who sought to use their personal experiences with lymphoma to benefit others with the disease. Our goal is to change the future for everyone whose life has been affected by a lymphoma diagnosis. We are dedicated to funding biomedical research focused on the origins, treatment and identification of a cure for lymphoma; to raising public awareness of the disease; and providing support and services to people with lymphoma, their families and caregivers. The Foundation remains dedicated to identifying a cure for lymphoma through its research program. Our research portfolio extends to all lymphoma subtypes and consists of many grant awards. The foundation assists members of the lymphoma community by providing comprehensive, disease-specific programs and services to more than 60,000 people each year

What We Do

The DC chapter is one of the most active chapters because a Bethesda doctor is a main organizer of the Metro DC chapter bike ride, which for years has been the largest fundraiser for the Foundation.  This is the 16th annual bike ride, and is noted as one of the most supported rides in the region by cyclists throughout the area because of the care that goes into the ride.  Days before of organizing, setting up water stations and making we have healthy snacks for riders.  We have volunteers who are enthusiastic to help with the cause as much as the riders.  Our volunteers make everything easy for riders, from signage to helping with bikes, we have someone directing people from the moment they come in.  The volunteers staff the rest stops, cheer the riders on and help to make sure that we leave each place we stop at as clean as before the ride.

This year we are incorporating social distancing measures which will require even more volunteers to help us.
