Action Youth Media (formerly Gandhi Brigade)

ACTION YOUTH MEDIA is a Youth Workforce Development and Media Arts Studio. We offer free out-of-school programs for middle and high school students in Montgomery County and across the DC region. Classes are centered around amplifying the voices of the youth. In addition, we organize various arts outreach events that showcase the talents of our students. We provide a safe and inclusive space, where middle and high school students can find their unique voices and gain self-confidence as they learn media arts together.

Student volunteers participate in classes, create media for our greater community and host outreach events, including the annual Montgomery County Youth Media Festival.

Adult volunteers assist our students as they learn media arts, help take care of the media arts studio, and help manage events. Volunteers also participate as guest speakers, donate snacks and equipment and provide IT support.

Our Board of Trustees is volunteer led and we welcome non Board members on our committees.
