Community Bridges, Inc

Who We Are

Community Bridges (CB) empowers girls from under-resourced communities to become resilient young women who thrive as students, engaged community members, and confident leaders. We serve immigrant and underrepresented girls and their families in Montgomery County, Maryland through integrated, holistic programming grounded in the belief that education is a pathway to opportunity and a tool for breaking cycles of poverty across generations.

We envision a future where girls are celebrated for their strengths, empowered through equal access to quality education, and equipped to lead with compassion in their communities.

What We Do

Community Bridges (CB) offers various volunteer opportunities throughout the school year for both students and adult volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Volunteer as a CB Mentor: Become a powerful role model to a CB high school student by serving as a CB Mentor for a 1-year commitment and a 1:1 mentoring relationship. Volunteers must be adults.
  • Volunteer to support one-time events: Volunteers can also support our CB events, such as family events or food distributions through set up, managing a station, helping usher attendees, or clean up. Dates and times vary and we welcome student volunteers.
  • Volunteer as a Driver: Volunteers help deliver groceries to a CB family who may not have a car and needs access to food distributions or deliver gifts during our CB Holiday Giving. Volunteers must be adults.
  • Volunteer in Girls School-Based programs: support a school-based CB program as a volunteer to assist a program manager. Volunteers should be more consistent and ready to interact with CB girls. Program volunteers will go through a screening process. Volunteers must be adults.
