Who We Are

The Children’s Opportunity Alliance connects our community to build an equitable, accessible, high-quality, and sustainable early childhood system that narrows disparities and puts all young children on a path to reach their greatest potential.” They aim to advance equity in early childhood education by coordinating efforts across government, nonprofits, community organizations, families, and other stakeholders in Montgomery County, MD.

What We Do

• Community Polling & Feedback • Conduct surveys with parents, caregivers, and educators • Collect data at schools, libraries, and community centers • Support data entry and summary of results • Social Media & Digital Advocacy • Create and share posts highlighting mission, events, and resources • Help manage content calendars for steady engagement • Use personal platforms to amplify campaigns • Develop short videos, graphics, or community stories • Special Events & Campaign Support • Volunteer at forums, resource fairs, and fundraisers • Assist with setup, registration, and guest hospitality • Provide support with photography, live updates, or logistics • Help with follow-up (thank-you notes, feedback summaries) • Outreach & Relationship Building • Share resources with schools, parent groups, and faith communities • Recruit families and community members to get involved • Make phone calls or distribute flyers • Connect the Alliance with local businesses and leaders • Translation & Language Access • Support families by translating materials into multiple languages • Provide interpretation at events, meetings, or community forums • Help ensure resources are accessible to non-English speakers
