Who We Are
We are an alliance on 25 local faith and civic communities. In addition to helping refugee families with the volunteer tasks mentioned, we raise money to help families with critical expenses such as rent and food until they are self sufficient. Belonging to a member community is not required to volunteer with NNIA.
What We Do
Volunteers help new refugee families acclimate to life In Montgomery County including helping them learn English, find medical support, help enroll children in school and tutor them, help breadwinners find jobs, drive them to appointments, deliver food and diapers and many other tasks. Volunteers help with social events for the families. We also need volunteers to help raise funds by researching and writing grant proposals, and managing grants. We are actively searching for qualified board members.
