Who We Are
KEEN Gr DC’s mission is to empower youth with disabilities by providing free, non-competitive one-to-one programs of exercise, fitness, and fun, led by volunteer coaches.
What We Do
KEEN’s programs are structured so that each volunteer is assigned one program participant, or “athlete.” No experience is required, and a volunteer’s job is to help athletes participate in different sports activities and have a good time. We offer an open, unstructured, and non-competitive environment where every child can enjoy every activity without the fear of losing or not being the best! We are looking for caring, energetic volunteers to enjoy sports and recreational activities with children, teens, and young adults with developmental disabilities in a group setting. Our sessions are every Sunday during the school year at Tilden Middle school in Rockville. Volunteers can come every week, once a month, or just one time – no commitment is required.
