Vietnamese Youth Program - Our Lady of Vietnam Parish

Who We Are

Vietnamese Language School sponsored by Our Lady Of Vietnam Parish

What We Do

As Vietnamese language teaching assistants (TAs), to deepen the students’ language skills & cultural knowledge, TAs effectively perform a variety of instructional, technical, clerical tasks to assist the classroom teacher; to meet the needs of the students, & to ensure the provision of quality instruction for the students. Specifically, TAs provide assistance or lead (one-on-one, small group, or entire classroom) with linguistic & socio-cultural needs; lead group activities; motivate students, including differently-abled students; monitor the safety & well-being of the students; assist students with becoming increasingly independent in the use of Vietnamese language; & monitor student behavior & help maintain discipline/safety in the classroom. TAs also perform general tasks (e.g., maintain attendance records, assist with grading and grade book, develop strategies/incentives to increase participation/engagement, set up/clean up the classroom, enforce face-mask policy, check student temperatures, etc.).
