Who We Are

Islamic Society of Germantown (ISG), is a faith-based nonprofit organization open to all community members regardless of their faith alike, Muslims and non-Muslims. It offers a variety of services to all county residents belonging to any faith. It has offered or currently offering:

  1. Free IT computer classes on programming to individuals so that they can achieve financial stability,
  2. Free computer/smart phone tech classes for seniors so that they can stay connected to their loved ones,
  3. Free Arabic language classes,
  4. Assistance in providing free food especially during the holy month of giving in Islam i.e., Ramadan and generally throughout the year,
  5. Free ESOL (English for the Speakers of Other Languages) classes to new immigrants and to anyone seeking to improve their English language skills to pursue better job prospects,
  6. Free Covid-19 vaccination clinics.

ISG is serving over than 1000 families in an 8-miles radius in Germantown.

What We Do

Volunteers provide general help in:

  1. Setting up tables/chairs as required (classes, vaccinations, food),
  2. Conducting classes by the instructors,
  3. Preparing/packing food as required,
  4. Keeping the events safe,
  5. Maintaining traffic flow during events,
  6. Cleaning up after the events.
