Who We Are

We are a non-profit, community-based organization that prepares volunteer teachers and tutors to provide high-quality educational services, computer literacy, and life-skills programs to adult immigrants in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

What We Do

Volunteers must make an 11-week teaching (6 week during the summer) OR 11-session tutoring commitment  (1-3 hours once a week) in the fall, winter, or spring term. To sign up, please visit our website: https://www.washingtonenglish.org/volunteers/

All volunteers must complete one online training before starting and use the resources and materials provided. No teaching background is required.
